What Is GPT?
Before we starightaway jump onto GPT4, First we need to know what GPT is. Only then we can understand GPT4 better.
GPT stands for "Generative Pre-trained Transformer.” It is a type of language model developed by OpenAI that uses deep learning techniques to generate natural language text. The GPT model is trained on a large corpus of text data and then fine-tuned for specific tasks such as text completion, summarization, or language translation. The model uses a transformer architecture that allows it to process and understand the context of words in a sentence or text document.
GPT has been used in a variety of applications, including chatbots, question answering systems, and text generation for creative writing and advertising.
Different Versions
GPT has different versions. They include GPT-1, GPT-2, GPT-3, GPT-3.5, which we commonly know as ChatGPT. The latest version of the thi language model is GPT4. In today’s article, we’re going to talk about GPT4, or more commonly called as ChatGPT4. We will see how is it different from GPT3 i.e. GPT3 Vs GPT4. We will also learn about the different advancements coming in GPT4. And yes, we’re going to talk about the GPT4 release date.
What Is GPT4/ ChatGPT4?
The most recent version of GPT created by OpenAI will be GPT-4. Like all other versions, it is being trained on a vast amount of data and will be able to produce text that resembles human speech for a variety of jobs. It should be able to create blog posts, reports, and news pieces, all of which are of a top quality.
There have been a lot of talks going around regarding what will ChatGPT4 bring out. Yet there are no official statements from the company working on the project regarding what GPT4 will be capable of. Still we can hope it will be a lot bigger a system than the previous version, which we call ChatGPT.
Release Date: When Is GPT4/ ChatGPT4 Coming Out?
Since the San-Fransico based company OpenAI announced to release new version of GPT, there have been a lot of speculations about the exact release date of the ChatGPT-4. However, still the OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has not made any official release date. Yet, they inidicated that the new version of ChatGPT4 is expected to release during the third week of March 2023.
So, this is the very week we can expect to witness the release of GPT-4.
GPT3 Vs GPT4: Difference Between The Two
As the release of ChatGPT or GPT3 has left the world in awe with its exceptional performance, the world is now expecting way too much from GPT-4. The OpenAI officials have been so tight-lipped so far, but some of the details still got revealed. The overall areas where GPT4 is expected to get the better of GPT3 in are said to be processing of complex tasks, improved accuracy, scalability and alignment.
The most notable and biggest difference between the the previous version of GPT model and the latest one is the number of learning parameters. GPT three had 175 billions learning parameters. And guess what? GPT4 has170 trillions of learning parameters. This can clearly tell how big a system ChatGPT-4 will be. Having parameters of this much numbers, the model will get closer to the working humans language, although it still won’t be able to beat or be equal to the humans.
Some of the areas where GPT4 is going to be better at are:
Larger Data Sets:
As we’ve discussed the difference of number of learning parameters among different versions of GPT model, we’ve clearly seen GPT-4 outnumbers the previous versions in this field. Having 170 trillion parameters implies that it will have more data training data than GPT3. GPT3 had 17 gigabytes of training data. While the latest version contains 45 gigabytes of data. This means it will provide more accurate results.
Larger Model:
This is what we have already talked about. This is the competion of number of parameters. GPT-1 had 117 million parameters followed by next version, GPT-2 had 1.2 billion. The number rose to 175 billion for GPT-3. But, the latest version, GPT-4 is coming out with staggering numbers of 170 trillion parameters. So it clearly outcompetes GPT3 as being the Largest model (only so far).
Better Results:
The latest version of GPT, which we roughly call as ChatGPT4, has also improved the algorithms. These algorithms can be used to improve the accuracy of the machine learning models. So ultimately, they will generate high quality results to the prompts.
Speed:
As GPT-4 is based on much faster GPUs and TPUs, so the speed competion of ChatGPT3 Vs ChatGPT4 is won by GPT-4.
Potential Uses Of GPT4
GPT-4 could potentially be used for a wide range of natural language processing tasks, including:
-> Text completion and generation: GPT-4 could be used to generate natural language text such as news articles, product descriptions, and social media posts.
-> Language translation: GPT-4 could be used to translate text from one language to another with high accuracy and fluency.
-> Chatbots and virtual assistants: GPT-4 could be used to power chatbots and virtual assistants that can converse with users in natural language.
-> Summarization and content curation: GPT-4 could be used to summarize long articles or documents and generate brief summaries or abstracts.
-> Sentiment analysis: GPT-4 could be used to analyze the sentiment of text and determine whether it is positive, negative, or neutral.
-> Question Answering: The biggest competency of GPT4 is its ability to understand language, even the questions. So one of its main usage is going to be able of doing question answers. It will give precised and detailed explanations according to users’ prompts.
-> AI Chat: This chatbot language processing model developed by OpenAI seems to be very intelligent. Regardless of the industry, this could lead to the development of virtual assistants with machine learning to aid experts with their responsibilities.
What Does Future Hold For GPT?
GPT4 will represent a significant advancement for natural language learning models. Future GPT models will probably be even more potent, produce texts that are more human-like, and sooner or later, be able to create multimodal material since they will mix the creation of words, images, and videos.
The GPT models will improve with time, becoming more accurate and having a considerably higher capacity, t ackling increasingly complicated tasks, such as question answering, machine translation, and natural language generation.
Sparsity is another issue that will need to be resolved in the future if the AI is to function even more like the human brain, which is its model. Yet, attaining sparsity and solving the alignment issue might not be as simple as they seem.
Bottomline For GPT4/ ChatGPT-4
In conclusion, GPT4 is an exciting prospect for the future of natural language processing. With improvements in computational power and training data, it has the potential to surpass its predecessor, GPT-3, in terms of language comprehension and generation. However, ethical concerns surrounding large language models like ChatGPT-4 must also be taken into account, as they have the potential to propagate biases and misinformation.
It is essential to approach the development and deployment of GPT-4 with caution, while also exploring the possibilities it offers in fields such as conversational AI, content creation, and language translation. The future of natural language processing looks bright, and GPT-4 is sure to play a significant role in shaping it.
